Step 1: Location

Step 3: Header Board

Put the board along the chalk mark. This will serve as the header board—drill holes in the header board at the mark between the two first marks using the driller. In the pre-drilled holes, insert the lag bolts and secure them using the screwdriver.

Step 4: The mounting brackets

Make sure to leave a note of the location of the mounting brackets that will support the awning. Measure the space between the mounting bracket. Then, use the pencil and measurement tape to mark it with the same length on the header board. For better results, these measurements must be exact.

Step 5: Fix the mounting brackets

Use the drilling machine again to make holes in the last mark you have made. Put in place the mounting brackets on the header board and insert the lag bolts in the holes last drilled. 

Step 5: The shade

For the final step, attach the awning in the mounting brackets.
